Trainer Levels

Travelers’ Trainer section helps students to learn vocabulary and master grammar, listening, reading and writing exercises similar to those used by Cambridge exams with more than 30,000 questions in these categories:

Trainer 1

Aimed at children aged 5-6 who have been studying English for 1-2 years. The emphasis is on vocabulary acquisition for common topics such as animal, family members, numbers, colours, etc. Picture, audio and spelling questions are included for all vocabulary concepts to ensure complete mastery of the words. “Find the word” exercises help develop scanning reading skills. Present simple, present continuous, beginner prepositions, question words and more are included in the grammar section. Everyday dialogues about introducing yourself are in the listening section and short sentences accompanied by pictures are in the reading section. In the writing section, children practise composing short sentences using a set of words.

Trainer 2

Aimed at children aged 6-8 who have been studying English for 2-3 years. The emphasis continues to be on vocabulary acquisition for common topics. Picture, audio and spelling questions are included for all vocabulary concepts to ensure complete mastery of the words. “Find the word” exercises help develop scanning reading skills. The grammar section includes past simple and past continuous among other topics. Listening exercises include short conversations in varied contexts. The reading section includes picture questions as well as complete-the-dialogue questions. In the writing section, children practise composing short sentences using a set of words.

Trainer 3

Aimed at children aged 8-9 who have been studying English for 3-4 years. Grammar and vocabulary are equally practised in the exercises. Additional grammar topics are included such as present perfect, zero conditional and future simple. Dictation exercises for commonly confused words are included in the listening section. Reading exercises begin to work on paraphrasing abilities.

Trainer 4

Aimed at children aged 9-11 who have been studying English for 4-5 years. Vocabulary exercises begin to test straight recall, for example fill the gap when the first letter is given. Grammar includes past perfect, zero conditional, first conditional, passives and phrasal verbs. Dictation exercises for commonly confused words are included in the listening section. Timed writing exercises test the student’s ability to compose short messages. Sentence re-writing is introduced in this exam.

Trainer 5

Aimed at children aged 12 and up who have been studying English for >5 years. The emphasis is on grammatical structures covering a mix of all the main verb tenses, first, second and third conditionals, passives, phrasal verbs, prepositional phrases, future tenses and more. Beginner word transformation exercises are included. Dictation exercises for commonly confused words are included in the listening section along with “real-life” English from multimedia Internet content. Timed writing exercises test the student’s ability to compose long messages and stories.
