And if you are also looking for printable materials to review English at home, at the beach or wherever you are this summer, we’re sharing three free downloadable resources designed for preschool, primary and secondary students. Each one is designed to adapt to the pace of the students, with activities that invite them to play, create and express themselves in English during July and August. All you have to do is print them and let the magic of learning happen!

For Preschool

This summer passport is a fun way to help your little one (3 to 5 years old) practice a little English every week during July and August. Each page has a simple activity. You can join your child as they do the activity and help say the words in English.

After completing each activity, they can place a sticker or check mark. In addition, on each page there is a blank box where your little one can draw, paint, paste something or express themselves as they wish about the day’s activity. The important thing is to enjoy the moment and practice some English together!

For Primary

This English Bingo is a fun way to keep practicing English over the summer. Each square contains a small English challenge for your child to complete.

How to play:

  • Children can set one challenge a day, one a week or do it at the pace that best suits their family.
  • You can mark the challenges as you prefer: with markers, stickers… or even put it on the fridge and use magnets!
  • The objective is to complete five in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally) to win a small prize or special activity.

Prize ideas:

  • A trip to the park
  • An icecream
  • Extra TV or tablet time
  • Choose a movie to watch
  • A dessert of their choice after a meal
  • Or any reward you see fit that might motivate your child.

The important thing is to keep in touch with English in a fun, flexible and pressure-free way – with lots of encouragement and a joy for learning!

For Secondary

This English writing journal is designed to help teens practice the language in a personal, creative and relaxed way during the summer. Each week we propose a different topic to write or speak about.

How to use the journal:

  • Encourage your child to write their answers in English.
  • If writing is difficult or unmotivating, they can also videotape themselves responding to the weekly challenge, as if they were recording a “reel” or “TikTok”. The important thing is to practice expressing themselves in English in a natural way.
  • It is not necessary to correct every mistake: the most important thing is that they feel comfortable using the language.

Objective:

Encourage the use of English related to their own interests and experiences, without pressure, and taking advantage of the media with which they are already familiar.

Whether your little one is taking their first steps in English or already communicating fluently, these resources are an accessible and creative way to keep learning, because with Milton, English doesn’t go on vacation.
