For this reason, we have decided to subject Read & Play and Read & Prep , our most relevant products for promoting reading and practicing language skills, to an external and exhaustive analysis that would allow us to validate their educational impact and continue improving them.
According to the pedagogical quality assessment carried out by Edtech Impact, Read & Play and Read & Prep represent a high-quality educational solution and have been shown to effectively promote English language learning through reading, creative activities, interactive exercises, and well-designed gamification.
This analysis was carried out using the Education Alliance Finland (EAF), based on global quality standards for learning solutions and aligned with pedagogical research developed in Finland, in collaboration with academic institutions such as the University of Helsinki, guaranteeing a rigorous, learning-focused evaluation supported by scientific evidence.
This recognition reinforces Milton Education’s commitment to designing pedagogically sound content, intended to meet the real needs of primary and secondary classrooms and, especially, the importance of developing reading skills in English from an early age.
Thanks to this process, Read & Play and Read & Prep have obtained pedagogical quality certification, endorsing their alignment with international standards and their value as effective educational tools for the classroom.
The certification analyzes the following aspects in depth:
First phase: Learning Goals
In this first phase, EdTech Impact analyzes the skills that Read & Play and Read & Prep develop and support, using the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) and the English language learning objectives for primary and secondary education as a reference. The analysis of the products confirms a clearly didactic and instructional approach by identifying and developing the following skills:
- Language skills (CEFR) Development of reading comprehension and written expression through varied and progressive texts, adapted to the level and interests of the students, which allow working on both global comprehension and the transmission of information and the expression of personal ideas.
- Life skills and personal development: Fostering autonomy, motivation and self-esteem through flexible, inclusive learning adapted to the pace of each student, with immediate feedback and personalized challenges that promote the consolidation of content.
- Social, transversal and cultural skills: Development of communication, argumentation and respect for different points of view, promoting meaningful learning that connects new content with prior knowledge and fosters cultural awareness.
- Technological and digital skills: Use of technology as a tool for learning, communication and creation, working on the understanding of multimodal texts and the responsible use of information in digital environments.
- Innovative and learning skills: Boosting creativity, critical thinking and the ability to learn how to learn, offering different learning pathways that promote responsibility, persistence and enjoyment of the learning process.
Second phase: Pedagogical Approach
In this second phase, the pedagogical approach of Read & Play and Read & Prep support the learning of different skills, using criteria developed by evaluators from the University of Helsinki and aligned with the Finnish curriculum.
To this end, the following pedagogical parameters were evaluated:
- Passive / Active (passive vs. active learning) Read & Play and Read & Prep clearly place the student’s role in an active learning approach, promoting learning by doing through practical tasks, interactive exercises and immediate feedback, which fosters motivation and continuous monitoring of progress by the teacher.

In addition, they incorporate varied activities that allow for a deeper exploration of the content from a more creative and flexible perspective.
- Collaborative / Individual (Individual vs. collaborative learning) Read & Play and Read & Prep are primarily based on individual learning; however, the report highlights the strong student-teacher connection, facilitated by tools such as integrated messaging and analytics, as a key strength. These features reinforce the feeling of support and allow for more personalized attention.
Third phase: Learning Engagement
In this third phase, the user experience of Read & Play and Read & Prep is evaluated from the student’s perspective, analyzing to what extent the platform is motivating, fun and attractive to use.

- Respect Read & Play and Read & Prep offer an inclusive and respectful environment, with diverse content that represents different points of view and accessibility tools designed for students with dyslexia or visual difficulties.
- Stimulation Learning is experienced as an engaging and enjoyable activity thanks to illustrations, videos, sounds, and well-integrated gamification. The high visual and narrative quality clearly contributes to student motivation.
- Security The platform guarantees a safe learning environment, without advertising and without the risk of irreversible errors, offering flexibility and facilitating the completion of activities.
